DIST is developing an interdisciplinary academic environment in which students can pursue their interests across fields including English, Computer Science and Information Technology, Psychology, Education, and other emerging areas. We aim to connect classroom learning with practical experience, contemporary technologies, research, and professional development.

My own academic journey in English and American Studies, including my doctoral research at the University of Graz, Austria, has reinforced my belief in the importance of interdisciplinary scholarship, international academic engagement, and critical inquiry. My research focuses on contemporary literature, postcolonial and transnational studies, cultural identity, Islamophobia, migration, and the ways literature engages with complex social and political questions.

I believe that institutions of higher learning have a responsibility beyond the classroom. They should create spaces where different ideas can be examined respectfully, knowledge can be challenged constructively, and students can develop the intellectual confidence to engage with an increasingly interconnected world.
